About The School Braidwood Central School is a K-12 coeducational school, serving a rural community located between Canberra and Batemans Bay. Established in 1849, Braidwood Central has provided quality education for over 150 years; it is the fifth oldest continually serving educational institution in NSW. The school has a current enrolment of 421. Braidwood Central promotes the achievement of individual academic excellence. Our school is committed to helping all students achieve their personal best. Both the primary and secondary areas of the school have access to their own fully networked technology centres. These areas, along with the library, are equipped with the latest in computer technology. Braidwood Central has strong links with the community and an emphasis on developing pathways for students into the future. These links have facilitated the development of a model farm, 'Riverlea'. Additionally, students from K-12 engage a variety of extra-curricular activities including sport, drama, debating, public-speaking, music and gifted-and-talented programs. The essence of our educational philosophy at Braidwood Central School is summed up in our motto "Loyalty and Truth" and our mission statements "Personal Best Always" and "Caring is Central". In effect, staff at Braidwood Central strive to develop each child to their full potential in what they know and are able to do, as well as developing thoughtful, confident and caring citizens of the future.
